This is a
small area comprising a shallow freshwater lake and marshes amidst the
cultivated plains of Gurgaon district of Haryana. The main "salt
pan" within the lake almost dries up in summer but after a good
monsoon attracts a large number of wetland avian species, especially in
winter when migratory species arrive.

Large
herds of pelicans, flamingos, ducks, geese and waders may be seen here
as well as avocets, sandpipers, starlings, blue-throats and more. A
winter sunrise over Sultanpur lake is an experience no birdwatcher in
Delhi should miss.
